Welcoming grief expands our capacity to feel pleasure. We defrost in all directions.

You’re here because you are not able to look away. From the violence on your screens, from the loss of diversity and life around you, from the pain in your chest.

Your heart aches with grief and you know deep down that you are meant for more than anxious worrying and endless doomscrolling. You are a divine being with fiery in their belly, damn it!

Welcome.

HAPPY ENDINGS is where we gather to develop the capacity to hold grief with pleasure, as blasphemous as that may sound. We are not here to manifest our way out of worldwide system collapse. We train to feel fully, grieve deeply, and stay alive to joy even as we experience what sometimes feels like the end of the world.

We need to train new kinds of survival skills.

This training is an embodied learning experience that will give you new tools to encounter the pain, anger and overwhelm in your personal and collective life.

Together, we will learn how to expand our ability to FEEL in all directions so that we can unlock and reclaim the ‘darker’ energies in our bodies (like fear, anger and grief) and channel all of that energy into creative action.

Week 1
— SAFETY

During the first week, we build the container that will hold us for our 7-week journey. We meet each other, establish our collective agreements and introduce the work ahead. We also introduce somatic and energetic tools that can help you claim space for your process.

Practices: Establishing personal rituals, creating altars, consent and boundaries work

Core questions: What helps us feel held? What creates sacred space? How do we resource ourselves for what's coming?

Week 2
— PLEASURE

The second week is dedicated to awakening sensation. Through movement and creative inquiry we gently expand our ability to feel. We start with yummy feelings because they’re more fun :) This prepares the ground for welcoming in more of the darker/yucky feelings later.

Practices: Slow movement practice, recognizing sensuality in unexpected places, creative writing

Core questions: How do we understand and recognize pleasure? How do we channel pleasure energy into creative action? How much pleasure can we feel before we shut down?

Week 3
— FEAR

Now that we’ve established safety and awakened sensation, we begin our descent into the underworld. We speak, sing and scream openly about what keeps us restless and unable to sit still. Our fears about climate collapse, genocide, financial insecurity, the afterlife… Everything is welcome and everything is held.

Practices: Ritual dance, movement witnessing practice, vocal activation, introduction to whirling

Core questions: Where does fear live in the body? What is she trying to show us? How can we find gratitude for the energy of fear and direct it towards creation?

Week 4
— RAGE

My personal favorite 🔥

Many of us - especially those raised as women - often take a shortcut straight to grief. It’s “easier” (read: more socially acceptable) for us to appear vulnerable in our crying…and in that process we skip this very important step: the raging fire of destruction and revenge.

No shortcuts this time: this week we awaken the fire in our bellies and rage the FUCK out!!! We learn to awaken and then wield this energy to guide us towards clarity on how the world around us needs to change.

Practices: Ritual theatre, polarity practice, fire ceremony

Core questions: How do I avoid / over-indulge in my anger? How do I judge it? Can I open myself up to anger as a generative life force that demands something must die? <--- do you see the paradox there?!!

Week 5
— GRIEF

Time to drop the masks and just float in the discomfort of our breaking hearts.

Practices: plant-ally practice, water ritual,
silence bath

Core questions: How much grief can we feel before we shut down or burst? Which grief is yours and which grief belongs to someone else, the collective? Where does it all go?

Week 6
— DEATH

Practices: Death embodiment meditation, creative funeral for the end of the/your world

Core questions: What are we composting? What wants to die? How can we gift ourselves and the world around us the kind spaciousness to let go?

Week 7
— REBIRTH

It’s springtime and the whole natural world is awakening (AGAIN! ALWAYS!) to the wild possibility of another chance. We plug ourselves into this collective rhythm and allow it to move our hearts and bodies in ways we could never have imagined when we started this journey together.

Practices: Wishing Tree futuring collage, closing celebration, personal vows

Core questions: How do we move from individual transformation to collective responsibility? What is ours to do? Can we find joy and pleasure in the way we tend to collective grief?

Week 7+
— ACTION

The course has ended. The friends you have made in this course stand beside you.

You step into the world with an inexplicable smile around all of the pain you still tend to. Friends and family notice and ask you what changed. You try to explain the paradox of grief and pleasure and maybe share one of the tools you’ve learned with them.

You find your unique creative way to gift kindness and dignity to the dying so that delicious new life can be reborn from it.
